I’ve only worn this dress a few times in those 11 years but every time I do, I get so many compliments. I paired it with similar shoes that Carrie wore it with, that I also purchased around the time of the dress. My sister and I freaked out when we saw Bakers Shoes was selling the H by Halston version.
The fun tutu set the tone for Carrie's unique sense of style, and the garment only cost $5! The famous tutu made another appearance in The Sex and the City film, when Carrie was cleaning out her closet with the girls and had a mini-fashion show. Over the years, we’d see Carrie sporting oversized flowers on her shirts and dresses. I love this look from Season 3, Episode 5 where Carries begins dating Aiden. Mine are a skinny fit as opposed to Carrie’s wider leg trouser and I opted for an oversized pink flower because that’s what I had on hand.

The brainchild of expert costume designer Patricia Field , the fashion on Sex and the City was a character in and of itself. You wear this dress beautifully and it looks good on you. Remember the elaborate Vivienne Westwood wedding dress Carrie Bradshaw wore when Mr. Big left her at the altar? Carrie always knew how to rock a fur coat, and while I hope it's faux , I love how she's styled this one with chic black accents and an oversized burgundy clutch – pure autumnal vibes. It may have been 20 years since episode one of Sex and the City aired, but we’ve never felt more inspired by Carrie Bradshaw’s wardrobe.
She wore this one while trying to procure a bank loan, which she didn't get, but she still looked like a million bucks.
