Unfold the bias tape and line it up with the edge of the neckline. Sew the bias tape to the neckline leaving 2 inches at the starting end of the tape, so you can join the ends. With the right sides of the fabric facing in, sew the side seams from the bottom of the sleeve hem, down the side, around the pocket, and down to the hem. Now, pin the center of your top tier to the center of your bodice front, and gather the tier to match the width of the base of the bodice. Flip the tier so the right sides of the fabric are facing, then sew the tier to the bodice. Try on the bodice to ensure the neckline elastic fits and adjust if necessary.

Sew the side pocket pieces to the sides of the top tier. Then, fold back the pocket and understitch the seam. Create the casing for the elastic in the neckline by sewing down the folded side of the bias tape. Leave a little gap for inserting your elastic, then feed the elastic through the neckline casing.

Under stitch the seam allowance to the edge of the bias tape, really close to the seam. Place the unfolded hem binding on the sleeve hem, right sides together, and sew it on. For the tier and bodice pieces that are cut on the fold, snip a little notch at the fold to mark the center of the piece. Cecilie Bahnsen dresses are a must have in every fashion lover’s closet. With an extensive selection, including the latest season’s styles and trending colors available at Lyst, there’s something for everyone.

It seemed like a twist of fate — the heavens opened as guests were arriving to see Cecilie Bahnsen’s “We Are Water” collection on Wednesday, the one day this week in Paris with no rain forecast. Add the bottom tier to the top tier using the same method as before, minus the pocket step. Repeat the process for attaching the tiers to the back of the dress. Isabel Marant Looks Back to the Birth of Boho-Chic for Spring 2023Many pieces could've been from Spring 2003. Also very Scandinavian is Bahnsen's dedication to sustainability. Her first denim collection will be produced locally without any dyes, and many elements of the collection are upcycled.

Sew the ends of the elastic together and sew up the gap. The back of the raglan sleeve has a double notch in the armhole area. Follow the same method for attaching the sleeves to the back bodice as you did for the front bodice. Pin the front of the raglan sleeve, as indicated by a single notch in the armhole, to the front bodice piece, right sides together, and sew. "We are so known for dresses. So it's really nice to now also introduce like this denim jacket, the trousers and the outerwear," she says.

The collection is titled, "We Are Water," inspired by an old Yoko Ono installation featuring a row of water-filled bottles, each one with the name of a famous figure . "It expresses so beautifully something that I feel to be true — that we are all the same, just placed in different containers," the designer wrote in her show notes. Trim the excess and sew up the little gap you previously left.

For the tier pieces, put the pattern on the cross grain. The set, featuring water-filled glasses and vases commissioned from artist and glassblower Nina Nørgaard, represented the team effort involved in creating the collection, the designer explained in a preview. This practical approach to styling did not detract from her dresses' exceptional craftsmanship. Bahnsen put much of her focus on the way the dresses would move, creating each silhouette right on the dress stand, transferring it directly from the stand to the fit model.

Back at the studio, she showed me a beautiful blue silk dress that had been strategically shredded throughout, giving it a texture reminiscent of ripples in liquid. Asics, jeans, T-shirts and Macintosh coats bring her ethereal, hyper-feminine wares down to earth.

Follow the pattern guide to understand how to overlock the edges of seams. This beautiful tiered billow frock was inspired by a Cecilie Bahnsen dress with puffy sleeves. I love the summery, cottagecore style and recently recreated this tiered dress tutorial to include updated dress patterns for size XXS-XL. In her Paris studio the night before her Spring 2023 show, Cecilie Bahnsen and her team were wondering about the weather. The forecast for the entirety of Paris Fashion Week was rain, but she planned to show outside, in a courtyard at the Cour Mansart Monnaie, regardless. If it did rain, they reasoned, it would be on-theme.
